Cannabis has been used by mankind since 4000 BC across the world for pain, arthritis, muscle spasms and other debilitating conditions. Currently we are seeing the United States change there laws day by day. Currently, CNN has been helping change thoughts by showing the power of this medicine used with epileptic families. In November, Realm of Caring and CNN both came to the Oklahoma State Capital for a forum. Many Oklahoman's got to meet true patients and hear there stories. We are continuing to request that Oklahoma change its punishment for Cannabis to atleast allow some citizens to be overseen by there doctor and attempt this treatment.

With it become recreational in Colorado, Oklahoma would be foolish not to take a second look. We have all seen Oklahoma in the past year do several things that go completely against the federal government and say they are proud to do it. We need to legal the one thing that not only grows revenue, jobs, and industry. It HELPS people. We can't keep putting the excuse that it's federally illegal when we show we don't care what Washington thinks. We know what's best for us and last time I checked, majority says legalize

We must overcome the misinformation surrounding marijuana. We must impress upon people to put their glass of scotch back on the coffee table and do some serious and real research. This issue is just one of several that could be a statewide start at creating a better USA.

Try living in pain every minute of every day and having the government tell you that you cannot use marijuana to help; but here you go take Morphine, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl patch, etc. WTF! I KNOW many have died from overdoses of these drugs. Tell me how many have died from smoking pot?

Aside from the obvious medical benefits of allowing a natural cure for patients, it is an untapped market and the solution to boosting the economy. I am from Oklahoma and have watched many of my family members become addicted and die from pharmaceuticals. The current medical system in Oklahoma (and arguably in many other states) ignores alternative and or natural cures simply because they are controlled by the influence and funds of certain drug companies. A bureaucratic health care system is a shame and defeats the purpose of true healers that want to become doctors to truly help people. I should also add that I am commenting on this from Denver. On my bus ride here I woke up to the word 'dispensary' I wish the rest of the country would do the same thing.

The legalization of Marijuana is a no brainer. LEGALIZE MEDICAL CANNABIS!!!! Also Oklahoma needs to legalize the industrial growth of Hemp. Hemp can make products like tile, silk, biofuel, paper,(as a resident and high school graduate of Oklahoma I know first hand how bad Oklahoma schools need new text books desks paper chalk (a lot of school supplies can be made from hemp). It is simple economics that factories provide a stable economy. Factories in Oklahoma allow this state to have export products that can build new schools, parks, new bridges, pay teachers that are due for a much needed raise, police stations, from tax revenue. And since were in Oklahoma we really need state funded opiate drug rehab and help centers. For some weird reason no one in our office wants to talk about the real drug problem in Oklahoma. I'm talking about pills, fake bake(synthetic smoke sold at your local gas station),meth, and heroine. Oklahomans that are 15 to 38 years old, 7 out of every 10 battle with addiction every day. The number one drug to abuse in Oklahoma is pharmaceutical pills. The very close yet just as bad runner up is Fake bake. Pills are easy to hide, they have no smell and usually can be popped, snorted, and no one can see that you are getting "high". No blood shot eyes no smell and can be done anywhere! Pills are the easiest drug to find(not marijuana its almost the hardest) anywhere, your moms bathroom, random lady that left her purse open, dealer on the corner, emergency room, doctors office. The amazing doctors in Oklahoma are doing more damage than good by careless prescription writing. Doctors prescribe pain pills, antidepressants like the doctors get a percentage for it. Pills can be really good sometimes, but the risk for abuse is insane. Our kids on our streets are dying, for this stupid drug. Since Fake Bake can be bought at a gas station and has the same narcotic effects as most pain pills, Zanex, and other similar drugs, it also gets smoked and abused. These pills ruin people, homes relationships, schools, church, everywhere is affected from these so called "safe Drugs". "Safe Drugs" have taken over Oklahoma with overdoses, violence, horror, kids that would rather go find pills than go to school, fathers that wont go to work, moms that stop loving there children and themselves, politicians that have migraines everyday all day, pill addicts are everywhere. If you can say Medical Marijuana should be in the same drug class as these pills than you are a liar. Narcotic pills have horrible withdraws, and long term effects that no one ever talks about like, loss of confidence. constant bowel problems, memory loss, ghost pains, teeth falling out, developing bipolar disorder, being afraid of everything, loss of all family and friends, loss of sex drive. Marijuana has none of these effects. Weed will not kill my son if he goes to a party and tries it for the first time, but if my son was stupid enough to try meth, heroine, or lots of other drugs, he has a really good chance of dieing. Colorado released a study that teen Marijuana use actually went down after legalizing Medical Marijuana. This is because people that sell Marijuana want to pay taxes, and not get in trouble for a plant that should be legal in Oklahoma. Marijuana is in Oklahoma to stay, our government should stop trying to cover up there first mistake of turning a blind eye to big time narcotic prescriptions, and help the future of Oklahoma by cracking down on the real drug problems here, because lets face it they cant smoke some reddirt kush at the state capitol but they sure can take a pill while no one is looking. Marijuana is medically a miracle for Oklahomans because, Medical Marijuana helps with safe detoxing from narcotic drugs. If you have seen a person detoxing from narcotics you will see the pain, horror, regret that a so called "SAFE DRUG" has done to Oklahoma. Recovering addicts want a safe way to get help and stay clean. with Marijuana we can help lots of Oklahomans leave pills in the past, while being able to be there normal selves, not what pills turned them into. The people that say Marijuana has causes Oklahomans the same problems is either really ignorant or a liar. Marijuana is a culture in America and has been since Christopher Columbus first brought Cannabis Sativa to America. America also had two presidents that planted and harvested hemp all over this great country. This was in a time that our representatives did just as there tittle says represent the people that elected them. 70% of Oklahomans vote yes on Medical Marijuana. Those numbers say that our representatives are not doing there job or we are not speaking up as Oklahomans and proud Americans. Tell your rep's for your county to stop representing what they think is best for Oklahomans and start representing their County of Oklahomans. As people blessed to be in America we can rally together until there is change either in our government or in our law. This is a hard but real picture of drug infected Oklahoma. Medical Cannabis wont fix all of our economy or drug problems, but common sense says that Medical Marijuana is a step in the right direction.

I'm sick of having to take pain pills of made of Opioides for pain in my back & joints . I don't understand why Oklahoma hasn't joined other states, allowing marijuana as a substitute medicine! I'm a 66 yr old male that have had to take opioids for several years, I don't know if it would be a alternative, but would like to have the ability to try legally, with out me afraid of the law enforcement stepping in.
